Shared Health Priorities indicators, June 2024

—

The Canadian Institute for Health Information (AVÐÇÇò) is pleased to share the new set of common indicators to measure progress in 4 shared priority areas of our health systems: primary health care; health workforce and surgeries; mental health and substance use; and electronic health information. AVÐÇÇò led a collaborative and rigorous process to support the selection of indicators, bringing in perspectives of system experts, patient partners and the Canadian public. The list of indicators was endorsed by governments across the country.

This milestone reflects a significant commitment to enhancing quality of health care and outcomes across Canada. It sets a common foundation for monitoring and for keeping Canadians up to date on the positive changes they want to see in Canada’s health care systems.
