AVÐÇÇò Portal Release Notes: Release 19.7

The AVÐÇÇò Portal team is pleased to announce the successful completion of Release 19.7. The highlights of this release include the following updates to Portal DAD and Portal NACRS.

AVÐÇÇò Portal: Discharge Abstract Database (DAD)

  • Updated 2023–2024 DAD data, grouped with the 2023 and 2024 Case Mix Group+ (CMG+) and Comprehensive Ambulatory Classification System (CACS) methodologies
  • Added new 2024–2025 DAD data, grouped with the 2024 CMG+ and CACS methodologies 
  • Updated DAD geography data based on the latest Statistics Canada Postal Code Conversion File (PCCF), which contains new postal codes updated to November 2023  
  • Updated DAD population data based on Statistics Canada’s 2023 population estimates 

Notes

  • Open-year data can change with each release, until the final release.  
  • You can choose a specific methodology by filtering on the Methodology Year attribute, which you can find here: DAD\2. DAD Discharge Analysis\Attributes\1. Case Mix. The Methodology Year prompt is also embedded in the AVÐÇÇò Blank Report, which allows you to select a specific methodology when designing a report. 
  • AVÐÇÇò Portal contains DAD abstracts of Institution Type 1 (Acute Inpatient Care) or A (Day Surgery) that were submitted to and accepted by AVÐÇÇò by 11:59 p.m. ET on the third business day of the month.  

AVÐÇÇò Portal: National Ambulatory Care Reporting System (NACRS)

  • Updated 2023–2024 NACRS data, grouped with the 2023 and 2024 CACS methodologies 
  • Added new 2024–2025 NACRS data, grouped with the 2024 CACS methodology 
  • Updated NACRS geography data based on the latest Statistics Canada Postal Code Conversion File (PCCF), which contains new postal codes updated to November 2023  
  • Updated NACRS population data based on Statistics Canada’s 2023 population estimates

  • The Submission Level attribute (found in NACRS Discharge Analysis\Attributes\6. Submission Level) can be used to filter and/or display all abstracts (levels 1, 2 and 3) currently available for reporting within AVÐÇÇò Portal.
